OUR ORIGINS

Hi there, Jeanie, The Good Mother Crafty Witch here!  Thanks for stopping in at my shop.  Let me tell you a little about myself and my process.   I have loved wood burning (pyrography) since I was a little girl.  One summer when I was 7, I spent with my grandparents, and I was annoying my grandfather in his workshop. I picked up a tool that looked like an electrical marker and asked him what it was, and to my surprise he told me and turned me loose on the scrap wood he had. (There is more to this story, and I tell it at events in person LOL) From then on, I have always loved wood burning.  Yes, I was “self” taught but that’s ok.  Like most artists, I have my own process.  I did put it down for a time, but after my brother passed away in 2021, I needed an outlet for my grief, this seemed perfect for me to pick back up. It helped a lot, and it gave me an outlet for my side gig to make some money in the process.  Grandpa may not have realized the path it would take with me, but he would still be supportive (as would my brother).  At every event I do have something with an eagle on it to pay homage to my Grandpa who loved eagles. Without his guidance through my annoyance I would have my wood burning business.  A few years ago hubby surprised me with a laser engraver.  With that I do both.  Many items have both hand burning and laser engraving ( with some just one or the other)  I do love creating new wood items.  I do source my wood currently from local craft/hobby shops.  I do want to make the boxes too at some point.  Thank you for taking this little journey with me.  If you like my work and don't see something you love for yourself, I love creating custom creations, so don’t hesitate to reach out.  Blessed BE!
